KitchenAid is known as one of the leading makers of kitchen equipment and appliances and the KitchenAid KJE500CR Juicer is just one of the products in its high-end line which boasts of superior features and performance with prices starting at $99. It is a combination juicer and citrus press, and is powerful at 1800rpm.

It juices and grinds fruits and vegetables at this speed so the juice and concentrate has less foam and is able to maintain its nutritional content. This model’s motor base is heavy duty without being bulky and has rubberized feet which prevent it from scooting and slipping.

KitchenAid KJE500CR Juicer Specifications:

Weight: 15 pounds

Dimensions: 18.3 x 9.1 x 8.7 inches

Warranty: 1 year total replacement warranty

1800 rpm motor

Stylish Design
This unit comes in a very stylish design and comes in coordinating colors. It has a stainless-steel extractor basket which is strongly constructed and has a sharp cutting surface and fine holes so that the juice and concentrate is able to pass through while the pulp and fibers are filtered.

It is also made with a hinged lid that also serves as a fruit pusher, while the citrus press contains two juicing domes that come together for easier storage. This model’s metal spout also features a tapered edge which gives minimal splashing, while the power switch is easy to operate even with a wet hand.

Form over Function
Despite its sleek features, many users complain that this model is poorly designed and is not easy to use unlike other brands in the market. Although it has a modern outer appearance, it is made up of mostly plastic parts and is hard to take apart for cleaning.

The fruit chute is also not as big as other units and several users have reported having to cut up the fruits and vegetables first into smaller pieces so that they will be able to fit into the juicer.

This is also quite expensive compared to other juicers and extractors with prices starting at $99.

KitchenAid KJE500CR Juicer At A Glance…

Pros:

Stylish and comes in a variety of colors

Has a stainless steel extractor basket

Has a metal spout that allows you to pour the juice without wasting much

Cons:

Poorly designed

Not easy to use

Made up mostly of plastic parts

Parts are not easy to take apart so cleaning becomes a chore

Quite expensive compared to other juicers in its range

Does not have a large chute so you still have to cut up fruits and vegetables

Overall, the KitchenAid KJE500CR Juicer got mixed reviews from users who have already tried it, with the majority of them saying that this model is not as easy to operate as other products. For those who are only new to juicing and would want to try out a juicer, we recommend that you instead try out a more compact model at a more reasonable price than this expensive unit that falls short of consumers’ expectations.

Purchasing another appliance gives you a problem of storage. An attachment to your existing appliance is a great idea, its saves you storage space and a whole bundle of money. With an attachment it transforms your appliance into another appliance.

The KitchenAid JE Citrus Juicer Stand Mixer Attachment is a part that you attach on to your KitchenAid stand mixer. This juicer is ideal for extracting juice from all citrus fruits. Its simple and easy design makes it easy to clean. So with snap to put the juicer in place, you have another use for your KitchenAid stand mixer and some dollars saved.

Kitchenaid JE Citrus Juicer Attachment Specifications

Brand: KitchenAid

Model: JE Citrus Juicer Stand Mixer Attachment

Product Specification:

For use with all KitchenAid stand mixers

Great for juicing lemons, limes, oranges, and grapefruit

Easy to assemble and attach

Includes attachment for straining pulp, seeds

Plastic parts are dishwasher-safe on the top rack

6.5 x 4.5 x 9 inches; 1.1 pounds

The Citrus Juicer attachment is made of white plastic with a built-in strainer that traps seed and pulp. It is designed for easy use and easy clean-up.

Advantages

The KitchenAid JE Citrus Juicer Stand Mixer Attachment attachment turns your KitchenAid stand mixer into a citrus juicer. Not only does it save you from spending on another appliance, but it also saves you kitchen and countertop space. This juicer does what it’s supposed to do: extract more juice compared to that of a manual user.

Disadvantages

Though the KitchenAid JE Citrus Juicer Stand Mixer Attachment does extract more juice than its manual counterpart, it makes a mess when using it. Its open design, allows the juice to splash. It also takes a long time and if one is not careful; your hand will slip into the squeezer.

The built-in strainer does not work as well as it was advertised. Sometimes pulp gets into the container with the juice. To get the pulp out you have to strain the juice again.

Conclusion

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td><img src="http://www.juicercritic.com/images/B00004SGFD/" /><td></tr><tr><td><td></tr></table>

I would recommend this KitchenAid JE Citrus Juicer Stand Mixer Attachment if you have an existing KitchenAid stand mixer after all it still does it job—it extracts more juice at a less time and effort compared to the manual juicer. You also get to save on space in the kitchen and save on money.

However, it has more advantages than its disadvantages. For me, less fuss and less mess is what I look for. Also, I don’t like straining the juice again to get the pulp out, not only does it takes time it also adds to the utensils I’m going to clean afterwards.

Also, compared to other juicer appliances it takes a longer time to extract the juice. The absence of a guard on the front face of the juicer makes the juice splash on to the counter. This juicer also does not work quite well with large size citrus. The squeezer is so small that it is only good for small size oranges or lemon or lime.

For someone who starts her or his day with a freshly squeezed juice before going off to work, I would not recommend this juicer attachment. It’s slow, messy, and you have to strain again to get your pulp free juice.

You are better off buying a separate juicer like the Jack Lalanne Power Juicer Pro.
